China’s Intelligent Manufacturing Powers the “Belt and Road” Initiative! TGOOD’s 15 Mobile Substations Alleviate Saudi Arabia’s Power Crisis
Jul 19, 2025On July 12, 2025 (Beijing Time), the final set of the fifteen 132kV mobile substations designed and manufactured by TGOOD for National Grid SA was successfully commissioned in the desert of Najran Province, Saudi Arabia. The successful commissioning of the mobile substation demonstrates the strength of China's intelligent manufacturing, and provides robust momentum for the energy transition of countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, which will significantly alleviate Saudi Arabia’s power shortage concerns in summer.
This is a core project under Saudi Vision 2030 aimed at optimizing the power grid structure and ensuring energy security. It supports National Grid SA to address the electricity shortage in the summer peak and marks a milestone achievement for TGOOD in contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative. Leveraging China’s first pulse production line for kiosks, 15 sets of substations were manufactured within two months, significantly boosting production efficiency and demonstrating the “intelligent manufacturing” strength of China’s traditional manufacturing industry as it transitions to new quality productive forces.
Despite the extreme summer temperatures exceeding 45 °C in Saudi Arabia, the project team efficiently organized and coordinated the entire process from design, production, transport, installation, commissioning, to power supply, and completed all production, delivery, and power supply tasks in less than six months. This achievement once again demonstrates China's exceptional speed in infrastructure development and its technological strength to the world.
As a global leader in integrated prefabricated substation solutions, TGOOD has expanded its reach to over 50 countries worldwide, with numerous benchmark projects completed in regions including the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. In May 2025, the company established a Saudi branch to serve the Middle East market and simultaneously built a Qingdao overseas headquarters base for intelligent manufacturing, which will further enhance the global supply capacity of China's power equipment.
From the production base in Qingdao to the desert heartland of Saudi Arabia, the successful commissioning of TGOOD’s project in Saudi Arabia is not only a vivid example that “intelligent manufacturing in China” is “Going global”, but also a model of international energy cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, underscoring China's cutting-edge capabilities and robust international competitiveness in the field of intelligent manufacturing. As TGOOD continues to deepen its global layout, Chinese power equipment will play an increasingly pivotal role in advancing energy security and sustainable development of countries under the Belt and Road Initiative, and pave the way for the international energy cooperation in the new era.
